Christmas Projects

Perfectly Plaid

When it comes to card making then there aren’t that many new designs, lots of folds and designs get re-visited with a tweak here and there. I love this aspect of crafting, we can look at cards made by ourselves or by our fellow crafters and use them as a starting point when the creativity juices are not flowing.

We can find inspiration everywhere, a fabric design can inspire us with it’s colour palette, Pinterest is an inspiring place for card designs or just colour combinations and textures that make us smile, and help to get the crafting mojo restarted.

I came across this layout using the Wrapped in Plaid designer series paper and the Perfectly Plaid stamp set while browsing Pinterest recently. It is more or less as it was designed by the very talented Susan Wong a Stampin Up Demo from New Zealand with just a few small tweaks by me. I love the simplicity and the large white border. I’m a sucker for flag ends, what can I say………..

Perfectly Plaid Suite.

Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler card stock is the backdrop for the punched trees, and yes this stamp set has a matching punch, YAY! What would we do without a Stampin Up matching punch. The plaid paper has a gold highlight on one side of the double sided paper and it creates a stunning accent. It is a pack of 6 x 6 and you get 48 double sided sheets for £13 this will cover all your holiday projects. I think it’s a classy look, traditional but with that bit of luxury.

My next Christmas makes will be using the Feels Like Frost designer series paper. Photoreal on one side and silver and white on the reverse, another stunning collection.
