The year has definitely been like an out of control rollercoaster for me regarding time running away from me and December was here before I could catch my breath!
I joined the local Community Choir earlier this year and have been attending weekly and enjoying the fun and also doing something for me, has been a thing I have really benefitted from. I’ve also become the Choir’s go to person for most tech or creative things including a logo and ordering props and sorting the WhatsApp issues. Most of the Members are based in the local retirement village where we rehearse and they have become friends and I quite enjoy being the youngest member even though in real life I’m quite often feeling a bit old. Our Carol Concert on December 21st was such fun & we shared the billing with the local band Filton Brass.
Amongst my Stampin’ Up! buddies I’m the oldest although probably not the most mature when it comes to being silly and doing daft stuff……! We met up just before Christmas travelled by bus into Bristol and had a lovely day shopping, visiting the Christmas Market & eating lunch. I introduced the girls to the wonders of St Nicholas Market which is gorgeous at Christmas (and all year) I can’t express how much these Girls mean to me and I absolutely categorically know that we would not have met if it wasn’t for this love we share of all things Stampin’ Up!
We did a trip to Surrey early in December to spend some time with our little grand-boy, he turned 2 recently and he’s the funniest and cutest little man. We went to a Model Village as he is obsessed with trains he spent most of the time following them while we followed him! We did have a ride on the Sleigh though, pushed by the little train engine – I think he definitely would have preferred to actually be in the train, but Neil and I had a great time….
Vee decorated the tree this year and requested having the house to herself to do so, I won’t pretend she did it quickly, but she seemed to enjoy the process this year and I’m very grateful for that. Being Autistic can have many challenges that might not be obvious, perfectionism is one of hers and can really cause a lot of stress and anxiety. I’m so proud that she is still willing to attempt things even though they have caused stress in the past. Our family motto is ‘Small steps are forward motion!’
I do hope that your run up to Christmas brought you some joy?
Love Bel x
