Week 5 Dry Embossing on Heat Embossing:

For this week’s Live I was inspired by Artisan – Emma Goddard (Coastal Crafter) I absolutely loved a Christmas card that she created using the Peace and Joy stamp set from the August – December Mini Catalogue. The bold ‘Bright’ sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on a whisper white panel in white or clear powder. The panel is then run through an Embossing Folder to add extra texture over the heat embossing. Using ink and a sponging technique then colour is softly added over the sentiment so that the word pops out and the texture is accentuated.

Here’s my first attempt using the Tag Buffet stamp set.

I love the pop of Real Red from the card base.

The Rooted in Nature sentiments are also great for this techique, you will actually need some fairly solid fonts to get the best effect. Thinking of You worked for this next card again a practice sample.

The stunning greenery from the Forever Fern stamp set features on this card.

Solid images also lend themselves to this technique this fabulous feather features in the Tasteful Touches stamp set and looks great heat embossed for this simple masculine card. The sentiment comes from the Butterfly Gala stamp set. Colours are Crumb Cake and Misty Moonlight on this version.

Using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

The card that I created in my live used the Winter Snow Embossing Folder and I sneakily ‘borrowed’ it from the delivery that arrived yesterday – it was ordered by my Mum Joyce, she has a real thing for Snow Flakes and embossing folders and it just happens to be what Emma used in the card that inspired me so much. I have confessed to my Mum, case of having to really as she does read my blog, oops!

I’m not so sure about using the purple ink now for the snow flakes in the backround, I really should have gone tone on tone with the Pool Party, oh well there’s always next time!

Click the Card above to watch the live video and see me demonstrate the technique .

I’m really enjoying the weekly Facebook Live’s it’s a great way to connect and hopefully those watching can learn something new. I hope to see you every Monday at 4pm. If you do join me please say Hi and let me know where you are watching from.
