As there were 5 Fridays in March I held two classes during the Month. The first one was held on Friday 3rd where the Class options were a Scrapbooking Class with a kit and a theme or the Card making option where 3 cards are made.
The Theme for this first Scrapbooking Class was Mixed Media backgrounds. I had two sample pages one was a 12×12 full page mixed media background and the other involved an 8×8 piece that was then added onto a 12×12 page, a little less intimidating for a novice!
At this class for the Card Makers, we made these 3 cards:
All these cards featured Sale-a=Bration items and the Sahara Sand and Night of Navy card was inspired by a card by Kylie Bertucci and the Congrats card was inspired by Brian King.
I will post a few more pictures of how I created the Mixed Media background on the first scrap page in a separate post. It’s really a lot easier than it might appear.
On the second scrap page the bubbles on the photo were a clever add on because, although when the photo was taken Olivia was blowing bubbles, they were not visible in the picture. I created these by using the 1/2 inch punch to create a stencil sponging through this with Whisper white craft ink and then adding a shadow with our white chalk marker. I loved this effect. I can go through how I achieved the other effects on this page in a separate post.
It was a real dispatch for me going inky and grungy and it was actually a lot of fun.
