I’m really enjoying the challenge of going Live on my Facebook Business Page : Inkabelle’s Stamping Spot every Monday at 4pm. I like to use this opportunity to try and show a technique or show a project that opens up creative possibilities.
I’m aware that there are lots of people like myself that love to craft regularly and know lots of techniques and will have lots of products and tools, but there are also many that maybe have only dabbled, or have never tried paper crafting. Each week I try to see things from the perspective of someone new with minimal supplies as well as those of us with ample, so this week I wanted to focus on using our Designer Series Paper.
I am willing to admit that I am a DSP addict, and I spend far too much time gazing at and stroking my papers rather than actually using them. This is mainly through fear – fear of wasting it by cutting it incorrectly and also fear of using it and running out of a favourite design so that a future project will be compromised! Even writing this I’m realising how CRAZY that sounds, but I’m guessing I’m not the only person that feels this way. The real truth is the only fear we should be feeling is that of wasting such beautiful resources. I’m on a mission to change things and I hope you will come along with me and start to let the fear go.
So let’s get chopping and using these beautiful papers and if we run out of a pack of stunning DSP then we can buy another pack and use that too! I’ve made a deal with myself that I will only purchase another pack of DSP once I have used one whole pack up. I really want the Poinsettia Place DSP to go with my lovely matching Bundle and so I am cutting and crafting like a mad woman. Oh and did I mention that this is super timely as we have a 15% off sales on many of our DSP’s for the month of October!
This week I made this beautiful card pretty much on the fly!
Even the Poinsettia is created from DSP and I love the extra texture it creates.
I made this card using one of my very favourites of the ‘Love it Chop it’ variations a ‘card front’ can be cut into two 7cm squares leaving a 3cm long strip for an accent on another card. So genius to make 3 DSP card accents from just one card front. This feeds my frugal crafting soul for sure!
Please watch the replay HERE to get an idea of how to get chopping and mostly how to get using all that beautiful paper!
Much love
