Why is so tricky to make a masculine project? Is it really that difficult, or do were just overthink things?
I’d say it’s not really as hard as we tell ourselves, but, we use a different type of thought process around this type of project and that tends to get us stuck in a loop of procrastination.
We tell ourselves that Florals & Plants are things that are for the ladies. We say that anything food or cooking related appeals to the Girls, aside from BBQ’s then that’s a Male domain. The real truth is that just as many Men as Women love to garden, grow plants and flowers and get in the kitchen and cook.
We are, as my Teen Daughter would protest using ‘gender stereotypes‘ and actually is becoming very outdated.
This does not mean that if your Son, Brother, Husband is a huge Football Fan that you shouldn’t send him a card that fits with his passion, it just means that if you want to make them a handmade card and you don’t have the resources to create something in that style, then you shouldn’t be stressing yourself out that you only have a number of things that don’t happen to be football related.
This hobby should not just be about the results, it should equally be about the process. That’s where the magic happens, after all your not going to feel creative and in your happy place if you are feeling under pressure and unhappy.
If this is the case then please on that occasion ‘Buy a card!!!’ There I’ve said it and I know that it goes against why we tell ourselves we bought the products. How we justify that new Stamp Set or Colouring Tools, however creating anything we don’t want to does not bring us joy. If you are forcing yourself and your heart isn’t in it then walk away from your desk/table or wherever you work. You have full permission to choose when to make and when not to make!
With all this said I’m wanting to inspire you that there are things we can make for the Guys in our lives from the items we may have that don’t actually appear to be masculine. Take the Notes & Totes Bundle that contains Stamps & Dies from Stampin’ Up!

As soon as I saw this Bundle I knew it would be amazingly versatile, my mind was exploding with ideas and I really think it’s a great staple that will serve for so many uses.

Using Neutral Colours makes this bag look much less feminine. The paper came from the ‘Woven Textures’ paper pack. I paired the bag with the Trusty Tools Bundle and also used recently launched colours Cloud Cover & Secret Sea.
The Live Facebook Video where I created this project can be watched here
You could use the colour of the recipients favourite Football or Rugby Team add the logo from a brochure or programme? Add a gift card or some cash?
I really hope this has opened your mind to thinking broader when it comes to something that you first look at and feel isn’t versatile?
Be prepared for a lot more inspiration with this Bundle and all things Stampin’ Up! from me. I love stretching my resources and finding new & inventive ways to get the absolute most from everything that arrives in the Stamping Spot.
For now Happy Crafting love Bel
