Retiring Favourites

18 May

I have to admit that sometimes there are products that can intimidate me a little. These looked amazing, but I’d been a little lost as to how to use them in my style of paper crafting. These 12 x 12 Laser Cut papers caught my eye when the catalogue launched in 2019, perhaps you felt the same or maybe you hadn’t noticed them at all?

There have been 3 different packs of these in the Stampin’ Up!’s catalogues over the last couple of years and I think lots of people overlook them, or are just not sure what they are?

I decided to do a quick FaceBook Live the other evening as I was having a play with the most recent pack that’s retiring on June 2nd, when the current catalogue ends. After I began to cut them apart I could see lots of possibilities for adding colour and making some really striking but simple cards. There is a follow up video that shows what i made from some of the cut aparts, one is shown at the bottom of this post.

These Laser Cut Papers make amazing scrapbook embellishments and look so dramatic, when used over deep colours, they really create a stunning effect. They are pearlised in a more vanilla/cream tone on one side and just flat white on the reverse. Great for adding some colour should you so wish.

This shows the flat white reverse side.
The price has been reduced to just £5.20 while supplies last. Click the catalogue product photo above to shop this product in my online shop

I’ve added colour using my Stampin Blends and mounted this to a Night of Navy card base. I added Soft Sea Foam panel at the bottom that I stamped with a floral design from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set which is also retiring. The sentiment is from the stamp set Butterfly Gala that is carrying over.i stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink.

I love the delicate yet striking effect, it’s one of my favourite cards that i’ve made recently and probably one of the simplest to put together. It just goes to show that sometimes we need a little push to try something that challenges us a little, it can stretch our creativity.

Get your Laser Cut Paper before it’s gone? At £5.20 per pack a saving of almost £8 it won’t be around for long!
