Mash-Up Live This Week

Monday’s Facebook Live 10th August 2021

So this week on my live I decided to mash-up 2 fabulous stamp sets. One from the new July – December and one from the Annual Catalogue, mixing stamp sets like this can be so much fun and easy to work together. My best advice is to try and put similar styles of stamp sets together, it really doesn’t matter whether they be cling rubber or photopolymer, it’s more about whether the stamp sets are both line art style or maybe solid images.

For the cards I made during the Live I chose Painted Christmas from the new July – December Mini and Artistically Inked from the Annual Catalogue. The style of both these sets is more soft textured without hard edges although one is red rubber and one polymer, they both mesh together very well.

The foliage in this stamp set lends itself to many seasons and not just Christmas, but those pinecones and holly do just scream Christmas to me.

This beautiful stamp set mimics the alcohol ink techniques that are so on trend, the rose is so stunning and the fonts are just amazing, bold and beautiful.

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock the width of my A4 21cm by 11cm. My plan was to cut this piece down to create either one slimline card or to create 2 smaller cards. The technique I used here involves creating an arrangement that is heavy to the left or right centre of the card and then spreads upwards, downwards and from the centre in a less heavy way.

This technique is often used on a full A4 sheet and then the design creates a large cross of pattern through the centre of the card extending out to intersect the sheet into 4. The A4 sheet can be cut up and create several cards from one stamping session. It can be reffered to as a ‘One Sheet Wonder’.

During my Live I show how I stamped the flowers and used masking and some other tips and tricks to create a stamped piece to cut up in order to make multiple cards in one session. You can click on the picture to watch the video on my Inkabelle’s Stamping Spot Facebook page.
