Penguin Place & SAB Penguin Playmates Papers.

As mentioned last time I got to swap with the fabulous Ellie Cliff (see Ellie’s project HERE) and I thought I would share the project I created for swapping with her.

I love a 3D project and don’t need much of an excuse to get out the scoreboard and the bone folder. I have to admit there were several prototypes with this one as I was desperate to use the new Seasonal Labels Dies to create the window on my box while I wanted to be able to add a divider and have the tags look neat and tidy inside.

To accent these tags I cut the edge strips from the DSP where there were only small parts of the characters on the reverse side, my issue was that although I loved the patterned side, I really couldn’t bring myself to turn the cute characters over to use the patterned side more! The Penguin Place stamp set has this fabulous snowflake stamp that adds such a cute element to the background of these tags. Adding strips of paper before die cutting the tags adds the fabulous stitching lines on the stripes and makes the stripes appear fused to the tag, I love this look!

Now for the stars of the show to make the tags come alive! It was a bit of a mammoth fussy cutting session one night in front of the TV to cut out all those cute characters from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. So worth it though as they look fabulous on so many projects, in my opinion the best Sale-a-Bration choice in this offering by far.

The box as mentioned took me a few tries, but I was delighted with how it turned out in the end and I’m pleased to say that Ellie loved it too!

I did create another matching box slightly smaller than this one that held some Green & Blacks mini chocolate bars and a 3inch x 3inch card, but completely forgot to get a photo, so hopefully Ellie will share some photos and I can pinch one and add it here!
