This last couple of weeks have been pretty busy in my crafty HQ, I’d been asked to facilitate a kids craft session at my local Retirement Village Summer Fair and needed to come up with a project. This was my 3rd time running kid’s craft sessions here and I’d learnt that preparation is the key to success when working with a large range of ages and abilities, and with multiple arrivals all at once.
This is when my Die-Cutting equipment comes into it’s own, that is once you’ve designed and decided on a project! It’s so true that you can have vast amounts of supplies but sometimes that can actually be a hindrance and work against you when the struggle of decision fatigue plagues the neurodivergent brain!
The project needed to be something that the kids could personalise & add a little of their own creativity to, and then display at home.

This version really shows that she’s adding her own creativity to the banner. She was so proud of what she made and for me this is everything that makes crafting special.
Each of the kids chose their layers from a selection of patterns, a layer of white to add some of their artwork and a little accent piece that was fussy cut by either myself, or my lovely Vee who agreed to help me with my advanced prep.
Here’s how I set up for maximum efficiency and it worked so very well.. Those who know me well would not rate my preparation skills highly, and they would be correct, but, there are times when I really have to say it is the only way to go.

Using up retired supplies also makes me happy and knowing that all Stampin’ Up! Patterned Paper is double sided meant that the kids got double the options and I only had to die cut half as many for that reason.
This style of crafting with scope for adding creativity exists in the form of our All Inclusive Craft Kits & our Paper Pumpkin Subscription. Enjoy some easy creativity step by step or take the supplies out of the box and craft your own way. One box and a variety of ways to make something that means something! They can be found on my Website and some of them have big reductions on THE LAST CHANCE List too!
The last thing and possibly one of the most important is to send the cards – display the banners and use your creativity to bring smiles and brighten up the world.
